*Mandatory Post* #HOPTeamHamilton Let me tell y’all.... if you miss out on him, you’re gonna be sad! I absolutely fell in love with this boy! He’s a snuggle bu...g when you want him to be, but will respect your space if you ask him to get out of your bubble. Hamilton self-loads in the trailer if asked. He’s good in a herd or by himself. Hamilton is calm and relaxed on the ground. Hamilton loves children. Hamilton doesn’t ask for treats, and when he gets them he takes them so soft and calm. Hamilton can walk all day on trails or be placed in an arena and go for hours. Hamilton is huge on foot pressure and can be sometimes over sensitive, which might take someone a little longer to get use to, but is definitely something that comes in handy. Hamilton neck reins but also can be used with direct rein and responds great. Hamilton hasn’t been feeling the best lately. Thinking it’s ulcers but hoping he gets better before competition! I have been treating him with a few different things. He’s been having good and bad days, but slowly feeling better each day! We’ve been taking it pretty easy and mainly doing some bareback riding at a walk/trot or just groundwork. He got a Magna Wave and adjustment session today from Stable Hands Equine Sports Massage Therapy! He loved it so much! Thank you Madeleine Wixom (Wixom Photography) for getting some pictures! HAMILTON COMES WITH: * Breast Collar * Regular Halter * Rope Halter w/ Lead Rope * Cooler/Warmer Blanket * SMB Boots * Bell Boots * Supplements! A lot of these items are handmade, personalized to Hamilton, and with his name! Y’all, you’re not just getting Hamilton! You’re getting a lot with him! Make him your boy and you’ll get it all! https://appalachiantrainerfaceoff.com/adoption/ To adopt an ATFO horse, you need to know these things: These horses receive 100 days of knowledgeable and thorou...gh training by one of our approved trainers leading up to a three day 2020 event from August 20-22nd in Winfield, WV. Horses adopted during a live auction to approved homes. You do not have to be present to bid. You can do so via phone with a proxy assigned to you. At least HALF of these horses are 100 day training only horses. For those, it means you need to be a solid intermediate rider for most of these horses and/or plan to have the horse continue training. Most ATFO trainers are offering continued training at a discount. The will not be suitable for adopters without established experience. There are over 45 horses in this event from which to select. You can bid on horses that are suitable for your skill level. Approval allows you to bid on any suitable horses you are interested. Approval doesn’t require you bid or adopt. It just gives you the option to do so. You must apply HERE before August 15th and be approved to be able to BID on event horses, and you are encouraged to meet these horses beforehand while in training. Horses should be up to date on dental, farrier care and vaccines, as well as deworming and coggins. Pro division horses start at $900 bids. Amateur start at $700. Showcase Starting bids are $600 and up to $1,500. Adoptions fees vary. The average 2019 fee was $2,000, which the highest fee being $3,400. The value of training for these horses alone is over $2,500 per horse. Horses can have their adoption fees paid via cash, check, paypal or square. Credit Cards can be used with a 3% fee charge added. Adoption isn’t a sale. It works differently, but it is a process that is good for you and horses. When you adopt, you can compete with, show, love, trail ride and enjoy your horse. They cannot be bred. They cannot be sold, though. They are adopted and must return to the rescue if you change your mind or cannot keep the horse. The base adoption fee we set of $600 is returned, if you request it, when the horse comes back to us. You can learn about adoption here. The horses go on adoption agreements through Heart of Phoenix. Many trainers will transport horses back for A FEE. Please talk to them ahead of time about this. Horses adopt on Contracts, are branded to HOP and micro-chipped. See more

Bareback and bridle-less?? Y’all it’s been a while since you’ve gotten an update but I promise this update is worth your time! Hamilton has gone backwards and ...forwards the past 20 days. We’ve had some ugly days, and some okay days, then a few good days here and there. I was really focusing on liberty the past few days. He was doing awesome and then one day he took off, and let me tell you, being mustang bred this boy can run FOREVER. Gave me a major workout! But it’s been so fun to learn more and more about him each day. Someone had said he’s scared of beach balls, he didn’t show it in the last video. But gohlee this boy was so scared of a big ball! But he quickly got over it! I don’t think he was scared of beach balls necessarily, but the big ball that’s over half his size is definitely scary! In the beginning you should remember that Hamilton didn’t want to be close to you while walking and there was no way he had any way of wanting to trot beside you. I saw this as a challenge, in which I wanted to push both him and myself. Liberty is something that is based off of pure trust between equine and their friend. (As well as bit-less riding) Because Hamilton was so hard to get to trot beside me in the beginning, I knew that learning liberty would be something really good for him. Although I don’t know everything about liberty and I may not do it to the professionals eye, it’s one of the things I look forward to working with Hamilton on each day. He had a hard time moving and disengaging his hind quarters, but it’s something we work on daily. Hamilton has drastically gotten better with patience. You’ll see when I ask him to lay down, he doesn’t hesitate to get up until I say so. He will lay flat, until I say to sit up more. Then he will sit there until I ask him to get all the way up. I’m super happy with this. He’s good with the dog (and me) climbing all over him and he won’t move. Even when I’m unable to balance at all He’s cautious as to what’s around him, which I think is very important. When I first started Hamilton, he wasn’t good at foot pressure, now that he knows, he is very sensitive to spurs and does amazing without them. Check about 3/4 the way through the video and you will see what I mean! He responds amazing to foot pressure. Bit less and bareback was a spur of the moment decision the night I took the video. I trusted him, but I didn’t know how much I trusted him. I figured Well, if he takes off I’ll just jump off. I’m glad I took that chance. He showed me he trusts me and he wants to do good for me. For a while I didn’t trust him enough, then I trusted him too much, and now I think we’re getting to the point where trusting each other just enough to have a mutual trust between us. Knowing he doesn’t want to hurt me, and I won’t hurt him. But when we work together, with a mutual trust, it all works out! Some of you are probably wondering how his herd interaction has been. Hamilton has the rope horse as a buddy, but he’s not buddy sour which I’m very thankful for! You can take Hamilton out and he doesn’t care, and you can take the rope horse out and neither care. I like to see this kind of friendship between horses. The horses allow him to come in the barn and stand in the corner with the rope horse. I’d say they all tolerate him. He did get in a small fight with the only mare in the herd. I’m not sure how it started or what happened, but Hamilton definitely won and made her leave. This was the first I saw him claim dominance over another horse. I think he’s slowing finding a little more dominance. I’m over half way through my time with this boy, and he’s stealing my heart more and more each day. His adopter is going to be a lucky one! If you’d like to have the opportunity to adopt Hamilton, pm me! If you’d like to sponsor, you still can! Pm me! *I do not own the music* Thank you for your continued support and love to #HOPTeamHamilton HUGE THANKS TO OUR AWESOME SPONSORS! H&H Industries would like to congratulate Curt Dyer on his upcoming retirement! Curt has been with H&H for 17 years and has been a huge part of our success. Curt has been our primary maintenance associate and has been responsible for all our equipment’s daily maintenance, break downs, new installations, etc. Curt grew with the company over the years and went from standard gear driven machine upkeep, to working on the most state of the art, computer controlled machinery in o...ur industry; some machines only H&H has. Curt has been one of, if not the hardest worker I’ve ever met. He has always farmed his land in his off time and now will devote his full attention to doing what he loves. Although Curt will be dearly missed, all of us at H&H wish him well and hope he enjoys what he has worked so hard to achieve. Cheers Curt, we’re glad you’re a part of our family.
